Checking Resource Usage

This page explains how to check resource usage, which can be visually checked on the Xen Orchestrator dashboard.

Procedure

1. Open the dashboard

Click “Dashboard” in the menu to display the dashboard screen. In the “Overview” tab, you can check how much of the available resources users are using.

• CPUs Usage: Check the CPU usage.
• RAM Usage: Check memory usage.
• Storage Usage: Check storage usage

The pie chart is broken down into the following categories: Specific figures are shown below the pie chart.

• Green : Unused
• Blue : In use

When resources run out…

If there is no free resource capacity, errors may occur when creating a virtual machine, or backups may fail due to insufficient capacity, so we recommend that you either delete unnecessary items or consider increasing the resource capacity of your contract.
